INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 oz  Mezcal

  • 0.75 oz Campari

  • 0.75 oz Sweet Vermouth

Oaxacan Negroni

ABOUT

A classic Italian cocktail goes south of the border. Smoky mezcal holds its own when paired with mildly bitter Campari and sweet vermouth. It’s fun and adventurous - basically it’s “summer you.”

DETAILS

Named after Oaxaca, the region in Mexico famous for mezcal and mole, dare we say this version might be even better than the iconic original? This more complex Negroni pairs well with the rich flavors of Mexico, like ceviche, tacos al pastor…even mile-high nachos if that’s more your bag. In any case, you won’t be disappointed. Stir all ingredients in a Yarai mixing glass with ice, strain into a rocks glass over an ice sphere, add orange zest and garnish with a peel. Now aren’t you worldly?

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. POUR Mezcal, Sweet Vermouth and Campari into a Yarai glass. Add ice.

  2. STIR 20-30 seconds until well chilled

  3. STRAIN into a rocks glass over an ice sphere

  4. GARNISH with orange zest and orange peel
