ABOUT

Scotchy scotch scotch, we love scotch. Especially when mixed with fresh lemon juice and honey-ginger syrup for a sweet and tart combo with bite. Here it goes down, down into our bellies.

DETAILS

This aromatic cocktail is named after Scottish scientist Alexander Fleming’s groundbreaking cure-all. But the cocktail, unlike the drug, is a relatively new creation. It was imagined by bartender Sam Ross of NYC’s famous Milk & Honey Bar (we love and miss you, Sasha Petraske) in the early 2000s. Scotch with honey and lemon is reminiscent of a Hot Toddy, but shaken with ice and served on the rocks makes it worthy of the summer playoffs season. Add a single malt Scotch floater and garnish with candied ginger for a slam dunk.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. POUR blended scotch, lemon juice and syrup(s) into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice

  2. SHAKE vigorously for 15-20 seconds

  3. STRAIN into a rocks glass

  4. ADD Ice to glass

  5. FLOAT Single malt scotch on top (optional, but highly recommended)

  6. GARNISH with a sliced candied ginger
